Import, Export & Backup
You can import and export tag data as well as complete library information. You can also back up videos from this library to a different location on your computer or to an external storage device.
Note: Import and export functionality is not available for playlists, as they are library-specific. Activities such as recently used tags or playlists will not be included in any import or export.
Exporting and Importing Tags
This feature is useful for sharing existing tags across multiple libraries. Follow these steps:
- Go to the Settings window (Cmd+,).
- Navigate to the Tags tab. Locate the three vertical dots icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Export tags to save the tags to your system.
- Select Import tags to load a saved file.
- After importing, the tags will appear in the list below within the same window.
Backing Up the Library Database
You can back up the library database, which serves as a snapshot in case you accidentally delete anything.
To back up the database, follow these steps:
- Go to the Settings window (Cmd+,).
- Navigate to the Backup tab.
- Click Backup database to save the library to your system.
- Click Import database to restore the library data.
Exporting Videos
Follow these steps to export videos from the library:
- Go to the Settings window (Cmd+,).
- Navigate to the Backup tab.
- Go to the Export library videos section and choose a backup folder.
- Use the drop-down menu to select either all videos or videos from specific collections.
- Select the collection you want to export. You can use the search box if the number of collections is large.
- Click Start exporting.
- A modal window will appear showing progress. You can pause, stop, or cancel the export process.
- Once the export is complete, you will receive a notification.
Note: Depending on the number and size of videos, the process may take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes.
