System Requirements

• Operating System: macOS 13.5 Ventura
• Hard disk: At least 1GB free space
• Memory: At least 8GB ( 500Mb free memory)

Using the AI

If you are enabling AI for some of the features, based on model type you will need additional hard disk space and memory

• Advanced

Here are the system requirements for the above three types to run smoothly.

Notes: Intel base mac can run, but would be slower. It's recommended that you close other apps while running the heavy AI processing. Once the processing is done, you can multitask as needed.

VDO is optimized to consume less of memory and CPU as far as possible. However as your number of video files grow, the memory and computational energy required would grow proportionately.

Supported file formats

Currently video only supports .mp4, .mov, .mkv files only.

Note: MKV files are supported if the internal codecs are supported (like H.264 video and AAC audio).

For other formats, please convert them to mp4 to get scanned by this app. We will include support for conversion to mp4 natively in future.

Language Support

VDO supports English at this momoent. If you want to scan videos in other languages, please let us know.

Scaling

VDO supports scaling videos to different resolutions. You can choose run upto 8k videos.

File Size Limit

VDO supports scanning videos up to 10GB in size.

Number of files

VDO can support support nearly 1 Million videos theoritically. But it would slow down slightly on the search indexing.
We have tested our app with 10K videos max, which is a fairly good number for a personal library and system is written.

Restrictions

VDO has fairly loose on restriction, but to maintain heigine of the system there are few restriction are there.
